TORONTO PHOTOGRAPHER SELECTED FOR PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL IMAGE SALON
April 18, 2026: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – The Professional Photographers of Canada is delighted to announce that Toronto photographer Dee Potter MPA has had 4 images selected for its annual national Salon recognizing and celebrating the best of Canadian professional photography.
Dee has won the coveted title of 2026 Photographic Artist of the Year at the Professional Photographers of Canada’s National Image Salon.
The Professional Photographers of Canada Image Competition aims to recognize and celebrate exceptional talent in the field of photography, providing a platform for photographers to showcase their creativity and vision. With submissions spanning various genres and themes, the competition highlights the diverse perspectives and artistic expressions of photographers from different cultures and backgrounds. The exhibition was revealed on April 18th, 2026, at Canadian Imaging, the annual conference of the PPOC held this year in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Canada Shines on the World Stage at the 2025 World Photographic Cup
Quito, Ecuador – March 20, 2025 – Canadian talent took center stage at the World Photographic Cup (WPC) Awards Ceremony in Quito, Ecuador, as three Canadian photographers proudly represented Team Canada in person. “We had an absolutely amazing time! It was a true honour to be part of Team Canada and to represent our country here in Quito,” said team member Lee Milliken. “Along the way, I’ve made lifelong friends and found a whole new level of inspiration that has deepened my passion for photography.”
With six Canadian finalists in the running this year, the excitement was electric as the world’s best photographers gathered to celebrate artistic excellence. Back home, the rest of WPC Team Canada came together virtually, united in spirit as they watched and cheered for their nation’s top photographic talents. In the end, Canada secured an impressive 6th place ranking in the world, continuing its legacy of excellence on the global stage.
“It’s exhilarating to be part of Team Canada’s remarkable streak, holding our place among the best in the world,” said Dee Potter speaking from Ecuador. “From inspiring conversations to shared artistic passion, this experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. And above all, there’s no greater honour than standing on the world stage, proudly wearing the Canadian flag!”
Canada’s strong performance was made possible by the six talented photographers who were all Top 10 in their categories, with one earning a prestigious Gold Medal.

7th Place - Commercial, Louis-Philippe Provost, Quebec

Earning Canada its only medal, a Gold, Nick Didlick's stunning sports image showcased the Paris Olympic kayaking splash down. “It’s a humbling experience to be chosen as a medalist representing Canada in the World Photographic Cup,” said Didlick who watched virtually. “I feel like an Olympic athlete standing on the podium with such talented photographers. While I am a medalist, so many great photographs were taken worldwide that this is a special honour.”
The World Photographic Cup—often called the ‘Olympics of Photography’—brought together 28 nations in a team photographic competition that celebrates creativity, technical mastery, and storytelling. Team Canada’s continued success is a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of its photographers, who showcase the nation’s artistry to the world. Canadians like Alexander Sviridov, who stood on stage tonight, “I’m incredibly happy to represent Team Canada and honoured to be recognized among the top 10 photographers in the world. This achievement inspires me to push my creativity even further, and I’m already looking forward to preparing for next year.”
